Attorney Terra Gross

The founder of Attuned Legal®, Terra Gross draws from a decade of Illinois civil litigation experience to provide strategic insight into landlord-tenant and small business concerns.

In February 2021, seeking an opportunity to help people without legal training make sense of the steps involved in everyday Illinois tasks, such as resolving landlord-tenant issues, Attorney Gross left traditional private practice to open Attuned Legal® as a participant in the Chicago Bar Foundation’s Justice Entrepreneurs Project.

In addition to providing sliding-scale private consultations and document preparation at Attuned Legal®, Attorney Gross counsels small landlords who call the Eviction Help Illinois hotline, volunteers with Lawyers for the Creative Arts, and has been quoted in publications such as U.S. News & World Report and Lifehacker.

Before establishing Attuned Legal®, Attorney Gross honed dispute resolution skills as a litigator for the Illinois Attorney General’s Office in Central and Southern Illinois, became familiar with Cook County civil court practice by drafting opinions and coordinating court calls for a Daley Center Chancery Division judge, and assisted insurance carriers handling property damage claims at Chicago boutique and national law firms.

A graduate of Chicago’s Center for Conflict Resolution court-approved mediator training program who has taught writing skills to university, community college, and alternative high school students, Attorney Gross understands both real-life language and legal jargon. Attorney Gross holds a J.D. magna cum laude with pro bono notation from the University of Illinois College of Law, an M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Portland State University, and a B.A. from Prescott College with dual concentrations in Writing & Literature and Music.
